Black Peat
Black Peat is frozen black peat. This is extracted from the bottom layer of the peat field, exclusively originating from Germany. It has a dark colour and a heavy weight due to its dense, compact structure. As the German Black Peat is frozen, it is still sufficiently able to absorb and drain water. A key property of German Black Peat is that it is heavily decomposed peat, which will not therefore decompose any further during your growing process. Substrates containing a percentage of German Black Peat are therefore very stable. German Black Peat is also used to make substrates heavier, giving them a firmer structure.
